Barcelona are interested in signing Arsenal star in the upcoming transfer window

This summer, Barcelona bolstered their first team with the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor but chose not to add to their midfield. Manager Hansi Flick expressed confidence in the emerging talents Marc Bernal and Marc Casado, and was also awaiting the return of injured players Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.

However, Bernal’s serious knee injury has disrupted Flick’s plans, prompting Barcelona to consider strengthening their midfield for the next season. According to the Catalan newspaper *Sport*, Barcelona is expected to target Thomas Partey, the 31-year-old Ghanaian international whose contract with Arsenal runs until 2025.

Partey has been a crucial player for Arsenal this season, scoring in the three Premier League matches he’s played. Nonetheless, there is uncertainty in England about whether Arsenal will offer him a new contract due to his age and current performance level. Additionally, with the arrival of Mikel Merino, Declan Rice is likely to assume a more defensive role, potentially diminishing Partey’s importance in the squad.

Thomas Partey’s experience in La Liga and European competitions makes him an appealing option for Barcelona. However, the Catalan club is not the only team interested in acquiring him on a free transfer. Juventus is reportedly open to offering him a three-year contract, while Atlético Madrid is also considering a move to bring him back. Additionally, Saudi clubs Al Hilal and Al Ahli are potential contenders, likely to offer him an attractive salary.
