Hansi Flick post match reaction.

Hansi commented on pedri’s promise before the game, admires the team performance

Hansi Flick: “I told the team how important it was for them to continue in the same way as before the international break, and they responded brilliantly.”

Hansi Flick: “I like our pressing. It has been very intense from the first minute. We deserved the win and the result.”

Hansi Flick: “I told the team at half-time that it was important to continue as we had in the first half.”

Hansi Flick: “It’s great to see how the team performs. But as you know, I work with them everyday and I can see the quality.”

Hansi Flick: “We’ll wait to see what happens with Olmo. I hope it’s not too serious, hopefully something minor, but we have to see.”

Did Pedri tell you before the match that he was going to score?

Hansi Flick: “Yes. Lamine did too.” *laughs*

Hansi Flick: “I already told Pedri. If he wants to keep on playing, he has to come hug me after every goal!” *laughs*

Hansi Flick: “I’m not a coach who finds or looks for excuses, I focus on my team. If the referee has doubts, he’ll go to the VAR regardless.”

Hansi Flick: “Already in these first matches you can see what we have been working on. We trust ourselves with the ball. We have enough quality.”

Hansi Flick: “We could have scored two or three more goals.”

Hansi Flick: “We’re playing with the confidence we’e built up in the first matches. We’re very organized, we play as a unit, as a compact and very high block. It’s not easy to do that, to press that well.”

Hansi Flick: “Lamine normally gives the last pass, but I’m happy that he scored today.”

What makes you the most proud? The pressing, the build up from the back, the midfield? What makes you say, ‘wow, I’m proud of this?’

Hansi Flick: “Everything. The team as a whole. If we press high, it’s easier for our backline to defend and for the midfield to receive the ball.”
